Scavenger Hunt

The class earned a class rewards and they were so excited to choose a scavenger hunt.  On Wednesday afternoon, we went around the school looking for clues to find our homework.  The students did a wonderful job solving each clue.  I am so proud of 3-4 for making such great choices!

Word Study

We are working on words and how they are structured.  We have been learning about synonyms, antonyms, compound words, etc.  The students have really been enjoying the games we have been playing.  This week we played the game Battle to help us identify the parts of compound words.

Agriculture in the Classroom

We had a great time on Tuesday when Mrs. Bloomstrand came to talk about Agriculture in Illinois.  We learned about agricultural products that are grown in Illinois.  We also learned that some products grown in Illinois are used in packing peanuts and in absorbency powders!

Illinois Unit

We are deep into our Illinois Unit.  We have learned about the land, history and economy of Illinois.  We have also learned about Abraham Lincoln and why he was such a famous President.  Next week, each student will do research on an Illinois topic and create a project based upon his/her learning.
