Kaley's Korner
Last week, we learned about the phases of the moon and in our science note books, we have a page that is setup so we can record our moon phrases for the rest of the month of April and the beginning of May. In our unit of math, we have been learning about mixed numbers and improper fractions. In reading, we read a non-fiction story about animal homes, and in center work, we have been doing work sheets with analogies. Mostly we have been reading about honey bees and their homes. In our unit of writing, we have had the opportunity to pick and make our own character; either it`s someone you know or if you could make up your own character. In social studies, we are learning about Chicago and its history.

Christine's Corner
We learned that even though the moon looks bigger than the sun at night the sun is bigger. We also went to an assembly about science. We saw that if you swing water around in a circle it won't spill. This week was fun!

Last week we separated deferent kinds of paper in three groups: Opaque, Translucent, and Transparent. We also learned about lines, line segments, rays, and points. I had a really fun time. Science was more fun though.
