Winter Olympics Athlete Joni Cotten

We were so lucky to have Joni Cotten, Olympic curling athlete from the Salt Lake City, come to talk with us about the Olympic sport, curling.  She came and taught us all about the game, rules, equipment and her experience being an alternate at the Salt Lake City Olympic Games in 2002.  It was incredible learning about the sport and her experience!  Thank you, Joni, for coming and sharing with our students about your sport.  We learned so much!

Here is a bio about this great athlete!

Valentine's Day Party

We had such a wonderful time at the party.  Thank you to all the volunteers who helped make this day happen.  We had a wonderful time!

Forces and Motion Unit

In Science, we are learning about forces and motion.  We are integrating this unit with our reading program.  We are defining specific vocabulary and exploring using the experimentation process.  One of the activities we conducted this week was to design experiments to help us learn rules about forces.  Students were asked to have a car move gradually, move rapidly, stop and turn.  Here is some videos while students were exploring.
