Becky's mom was able to stop by to read to celebrate Becky's birthday.  She shared a passage from Peter Pan.

Investigating Area

We had a great time investigating area using post-its.  We learned that different shapes can have the same area.  We also learned how to count half squares.  We learned that two triangles can equal 1 square.  We will continue to learn more about area next week.

Chapter 9

We are about to begin our Chapter 9 math unit.  We will be learning all about the perimeter and area of shapes.  Here are some helpful videos to help explain this concept.

Author Visit

    Judd Winick came to visit our school today to talk about his new book Hilo- The Rise of the Cat.

    We learned so much about the writing process.  He shared his inspiration for the book series and well as his process for writing and publishing a book.  He also shared how he became a best selling author and artist.
