On Wednesday I sent home flashcards to help the students practice the Northeast capitals and the locations. Today we went over the location of each state and ways to help them identify them on a blank map. We will be taking the test on February 20th. You can help your child by quizzing them at home. They learned a song in music class to help them with the capitals but the locations can be challenging.
A field trip slip went home today about the Elgin Symphony field trip. We will be going on Thursday, April 12, 2018, however, we need to collect the money now so that we can purchase the tickets. They are due by February 9th.
If you are interested in chaperoning, fill out the form. We will be putting all interested parent's names in a hat and selecting one to go with us.
Today we were so lucky to have Julie Jergens from the Arlington Heights Memorial Library come and do a book talk with the class. Students were also able to check out books. Don't forget that if your child checked out a book it needs to be returned to the Arlington Heights Memorial Library not to school.
On Thursday, we had a wonderful time at the PTA sponsored assembly! The students had a wonderful time hearing songs, seeing magic, and learning valuable lessons about being kind and good citizens!
The whole class is very excited! We would like to welcome Miss Pappageorge to our classroom! She will be student teaching this spring in our classroom and will be with us until May. We are so excited to have her with us. She is from Illinois State University. A letter came home today with all the students so you could learn more about her.
Welcome back! I hope everyone had a wonderful break and is enjoying 2018! I am so excited to be back and the students are in for a special surprise tomorrow. Stay tuned!
