Spirit Wear came in on Friday.  It is on your child's desk and will come home on Monday.  Go Dryden!

Chapter 3 Test- Tuesday

Your child will have their second math test of the year on Tuesday.  Your child will complete a review guide in class on Monday.  Please review with him/her at home.  It does not cover everything on the assessment but it does give you an idea of the concepts we are learning in class.

Book Orders

This is just a quick reminder that Book Orders are due on Monday.

Mystery Climates

This week, working in pairs, your child researched various mystery climates.  Students had to read information about the location and then using details that they learned, determine the correct climate.  Students have a wonderful time being detectives and solving each mystery!

Severe Weather Research

Your child is working in a small group in the LMC to research a form of severe weather.  Today we began our research by looking at our topics and developing questions about the topic to guide their research.  We will be working on these projects over the next several weeks.  Stay tuned!

Math Workshop

On Thursday, we learned all about math workshop.  Math workshop has stations and activities that reinforce our math curriculum.  We practiced our first station by learning about the game Kaboom.  They had a great time practicing their facts while playing the game.

Parent Teacher Conferences

Parent teacher conferences are Thursday and Friday.  If you can't remember your conference time, you can contact the office.  They will have a copy of my schedule.  I look forward to meeting with all of you soon to discuss your child's progress.

OPTIONAL SPRING BREAK PACKET

YOUR CHILD WILL BRING HOME ON WEDNESDAY AN OPTIONAL SPRING BREAK PACKET.  IF HE/SHE COMPLETES IT, HE/SHE WILL GET A NO HOMEWORK COUPON.  I HOPE EVERYONE HAS A WONDERFUL SPRING BREAK!

Magnetic Device Challenge

Students worked in partners or groups of three to design a magnetic device.  They learned about how to design and modify a prototype, test their design, and make improvements.  Here are their projects.

Balanced and Unbalanced Forces

Valentine's Day Celebration

We had a wonderful time at the Valentine's Day party.  We had a great time passing out valentines and playing many exciting games.  A special thank you all our parents who donated their time and items to make this event such a success!
