Nonfiction Writing Unit

We started our nonfiction writing unit! We read Are You a Dragonfly? to see how authors can incorporate facts into a book. After discussing the book, students brainstormed a list of animals they could use for future pieces. We also discussed how curiosity helps writers stay interested in a piece. After reading a book about wolves that was written in a question/answer format, students created a list of questions about an animal of interest.
