Weather Research
We have been working hard on our weather research in the LMC. Students have been broken into groups and have been researching a natural disaster in small groups. Based upon their research, they created a weather forecast with their group. All the groups have finished their scripts and some have even taped their videos. Thank you so much to all our families who volunteered to help us in the LMC. We could not do these types of projects without you!

Reading This Week
This week, we read a memoir entitled The Upside Down Boy. We focusedon asking and answering questions to help us understand the text. We also read avariety of poems by Eloise Greenfield. Students focused on the following poetryelements: lines, stanzas, rhyme schemes, imagery, and figurative language. Newvocabulary was introduced and embedded throughout the texts. We revisited synonyms and antonyms with a fun song to remember their meanings!
Writing a Letter
In writing, students learned about letter writing. We discussed the differences between formal and informal correspondence. Students drafted letters to their favorite restaurants using a formal business letter template. In grammar, we focused on singular and plural nouns.
